It’s always a happy day for me when I get to go back to my college stomping grounds. I graduated from The University of Texas in 2015 and I loved my time there so much. So you better believe I said a very quick ‘heck yes!’ when Rachel and Barrett mentioned doing part of their engagement session here.
Their Love Story
Though we shot in two different Austin locations, this is not where their love story began. They met in college at the University of Alabama and consider themselves to be college sweethearts. After moving for grad school, back to Alabama, separately away again in DC and Dallas. As fate would have it, they both found themselves in Austin in March 2020 hunkering down for what would end up being nearly two years of quarantine in the pandemic.
Now, they’ll be tying the knot soon this coming fall in Jamaica!
Getting the Best of Both Worlds
A misconception about engagement shoots is that you pick one place, one outfit and that’s all you get. But, that’s not how I role. You want two completely separate vibes? We can do that! We’ll pick separate locations, add in an outfit change and give you the chance to show off all your personalities.
For Rachel and Barrett’s session, they wanted to create doing different vibes by shooting at both The University of Texas and on South Congress. Two very popular and gorgeous spots for portraits in Austin!
